Hi, I’m Rachel Beckmann, a visual storyteller and creative communicator.
I’m Rachel, a visual storyteller working across photography, writing, film, and design. My work is narrative-driven: Focused on capturing moments that linger, images that feel personal, and stories told with intention.
I grew up on my family’s farm, where the smallest details made the biggest impressions: picking mulberries, running along our creek, holding a caterpillar in my hands. I spent hours flipping through my parents’ yearbooks and digital photo albums, dreaming of creating my own. That early curiosity — noticing, documenting, remembering — became the foundation of everything I do creatively. By high school, I was editing the yearbook, blending photography, storytelling, and design into a single practice.
Through college, I explored the intersections of creativity, communication, and research. I earned a BA in English with minors in Psychology and Marketing, then completed a Master of Arts in Communication & Media, where my research focused on media literacy, career planning, and visual storytelling. My work examined how storytelling, in text, image, and design, shapes understanding, perception, and opportunity.
Since then, I’ve collaborated with individuals, brands, magazines, models, universities, and public sector organizations. I have focused on creating editorial, product, and portrait work that resonates across national and international platforms. Whether photographing weddings, couples, families, or crafting visual identities for institutions, my approach is the same: thoughtful, intentional, and rooted in story.
I strive to create work that lingers — images and stories that honor memory, identity, and the moments we hold dear.
